I know it has been a lot time since the last update. J and I unpacked more stuff in the weekend but there were still a lot of junk in the lounge room and bedroom. We finally got our acts together tonight and cleared up the rooms (basically everything went into the “dining room pile”).
Here are a few photos of the lounge room. Our polar bear Sunny is hogging the remotes 🙂
And here’s the bedroom – I can’t get a good angle for the shots, will have to try again later. Also we need to figure out where to put the TV.
You can go to the “before” shots to refresh your memory of what they look like beforehand.
As you can see, both rooms are very bare at the moment. We will add decorations later but we wanted to sort out the big items (dining table etc) first. And we’re waiting on the cushions from estaki.
Any ideas on how to decorate the rooms will be much appreciated. In particular I’d like ideas on a new lamp for the bedside table.
Everything looks gorgeous so far V! I think it will look amazing once the decorations/paintings are in!
The lounge looks pretty good. Looking forward to seeing the room with decorations cos atm the TV side seems too light in comparison to the heavy red wall and sofa.
Bedroom is interesting..never expected gold sheets.
I love the lounge!
I would just say you need some big pictures to fill the space and bring the colours in these rooms together. Something to bring the gold bedspread together with the blue wall in the bedroom especially, maybe something with muted forms of these colours in them? I would get a neutral coloured (maybe rice paper, is that what it is called?) lamp for the bedroom.
The fun of decorating begins! I just discovered Oz Design Furniture – http://www.ozdesignfurniture.com.au – have some nice lamps. The “Lopez” or “Marakesh” are white and would pop nicely against the blue background. Not too ridiculously expensive either. Also, I’m falling in love with fabric-covered bedheads lately – a gorgeous print in blues, golds and another accent colour slipped over your bedhead (that you can remove for change-a-bility) would create another feature in the room, save you cash on art and tie all colours together.
